The Reverend Lisa A. Hadler began serving at First Congregational United Church of Christ in December, 2004, after a fulfilling ministry in Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Pastor Lisa was born in Davenport, Iowa, and baptized at Sunnymede Evangelical and Reformed Church - now Faith United Church of Christ - where her parents were charter members.  She lived in Davenport until the age of 11.  Her family moved to Winneconne, Wisconsin and subsequently to Kewanee, Illinois, where she was confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical United Church of Christ. 

Pastor Lisa graduated from Wethersfield High School in Kewanee.  She attended Illinois State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in history, with a minor in French.  She then traveled to Newton Center, Massachusetts, where she received her Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School. 

In 1986, Pastor Lisa returned to Illinois. She was ordained at St. Peter's Church in Kewanee and began her professional ministry at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, Illinois.  In the 18 years since, she has served churches in Iowa and Illinois, and worked as Director of a Victim Offender Reconciliation Program and as a healthcare consumer advocate.   

Along with a love of preaching and a commitment to pastoral care, Pastor Lisa enjoys being involved in the communities where she's lived.  She has served on search committees for school principals and on a School Improvement Assessment Committee.

Pastor Lisa enjoys music, and has sung in church choirs and community chorales.  She was a funding member of the Humane Society of Wright County, Iowa, and fostered kittens for that organization.  Her love of animals is also expressed in the pets who enliven life in the parsonage she calls home.
